Erik is the recipient of the Andrew Grant Award from the Edinburgh College of Art as well as the Planning Institute of British Columbia Award of Commendation. Civic Studio is the recipient of the Award of Planning Excellence – Merit from the Canadian Institute of Planners for designing a sustainable urban extension to the town of Thame, Oxfordshire, the first planning permission of its kind in the UK to be adopted through the neighbourhood planning process as enacted through the UK Localism Act.
Erik’s work has been featured in The Independent Magazine (UK), The Centre for Human Settlements (UBC, Canada), Planning Magazine (UK), the Urban Design Group (UK), Planning Resource Magazine (UK), Plan Canada, and the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence (Sponsored by the Royal Town Planning Institute, Glasgow University and the Governments of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland), and he has been a guest lecturer at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, the Scottish Heads of Planning Conference and the Urban Design Group in London.
